Being offered for sale one of a matching pair of Rare Antique Late Art Deco 18ct Rose gold Large 6.00ct Alexandrite rings Circa 1930’s (both are being listed separately). This beautiful 18 ct Rose gold ring is set with a massive 6.00 cts colour change Alexandrite (Synthetic Corundum). These synthetic Alexandrite were first created in 1909 and have become highly collectable and valuable in their own right. Especially large ones such as this. This beautiful gem has a wonderful colour change between bright purple and a blue shade in different types of light this characteristic is called pleochroic. The ring is a size UK O 1/2 which is a U. S 7.2 total weight of the ring is 4.5 Gms. The ring is in good condition there is a slight flaw to the girdle of the stone i noticed this under a jewellers loupe while studying the stone it looks like a small irregularity around 1 mm in length. However it cannot be seen when the ring is on the finger. Please study photos in depth as these are a part of the description.
